How we handle your information
Plain language, no small print. This page explains exactly what The Hearth Project stores when you use this site, why, and how to have it removed.
Free assessments
When you complete a screening on our free assessment page, we store the assessment taken, the answers you selected, your score, the result band, and the time of submission in UTC.
We do this so our team can understand what the community needs and improve the support we offer.
Your name and contact details are optional
Before an assessment begins you are asked for a name, email address, and phone number. You may skip this entirely by choosing “I’m good — just start the test”, and the assessment will be saved anonymously.
If you do enter contact details, they are stored only if you tick the consent checkbox. If the box is not ticked, the details are discarded and your response is saved without them.
What we never collect
We do not store your IP address, and the assessments do not set cookies.
Sensitive information
A name linked to a mental-health score is sensitive personal data under laws including the UK and EU GDPR. We treat it accordingly: it is stored only with your explicit consent, is visible only to the site team, and is never sold or shared with advertisers.
Forms on this site
The contact, donation, volunteer and guide-request forms send the details you type to our team so we can reply. We use them only to respond to you.
Getting your data removed
You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you, or ask what we hold, at any time — you do not need to give a reason. Reach us through the contact page and we will confirm once it is done.
This is not a medical service
The screenings on this site are not a diagnosis. They are a starting point for a conversation with a coach or clinician. If you are in crisis right now, call or text 988 at any time, or text HOME to 741741.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page.
